Renée Martine Crappier is not one of those artists who talk a lot and it is through her works that we have to guess her. Her words are rare and are inseparable from her works. They give the title of her series and help us feel the emotions and stories that she patiently conceals under the successive layers of her creations. Mysterious, poetic, they only come to her, as evidence, once the work is finished. This is the case with Idées d’arbre, a Platonic-sounding title in this series created in 2021. Reflecting her need for hope and freedom, but also the doubt that confinement and fears have given rise to, it shares her experience of the past two years.
